Inspiration X2

June 21, 2012

Here is some more inspiration for you this week! Check for a post about our Italy trip next week!

I met Lexi when I was living in OKC and was working for the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits. She worked for a local nonprofit and attended many of our trainings. She always had such an energetic and positive attitude about her. I never really knew her story, but we kept in touch through occasional emails when I moved to Tulsa.

Recently I saw on Facebook that she and her sister have started a blog about their journey to weight loss. I was truly blown away by both of their stories and their goals to eat REAL food. That is something that I definitely struggle with and I love their tips and expertise.

So go check out and get inspired X2 by 2 sassy sisters!

Stay sassy,
Danielle R.

I thought we would be back to our normal posting schedule but it seems we all need about a month off. Me the most. So just wanted to let you know we will be back up in July! Enjoy the rest of your June!! Here is a simple summer picture and poem I found here.

The summer wind, came blowin' in from across the sea
It lingered there, to touch your hair and walk with me
All summer long, we sang a song and then we strolled that golden sand
Two sweethearts and the summer wind

Like painted kites, those days and nights they went flyin' by
The world was new, beneath a blue umbrella sky
Then softer than, a piper man, one day it called to you
I lost you, I lost you to the summer wind
The autumn wind, and the winter winds they have come and gone
And still these days, those lonely days they go on and on
And guess who sighs his lullabies through nights that never end
My fickle friend, the summer wind

The summer wind, warm summer wind, the summer wind

Inspiration - the Real Deal

June 14, 2012

While I am away in Italy and then Boston, I wanted to share with you some true-life inspirational stories from people I know. Hope you are in awe like I am!

Check out my friend Leticia's journey to a healthier lifestyle. I am truly inspired by her determination and spirit. Last fall she wrote about her 2 year long journey of losing 90+ pounds - Two Years in the Books

This girl also just ran her 4th half marathon (with 3 being in the last few months)! This girl is the real deal! Brooklyn Half Recap
I love that she always wears her Texas shorts in races! Represent!

Some of her mottos that she tweets and Facebooks - #noexcuses #dreambig #nevergiveup #makeitcount #hardwork

We are taking a break this week and probably a couple more weeks during the summer. BUT I actually started and completed a DIY yesterday and today and will be back with my first ever how-to.
How-to: redo a small bench... Also Danielle R. will be back with pictures from ITALY.

Here's a sneak peak to tide you over:

Friendship Friday

June 1, 2012

Happy Friday everyone! I was surfing the internet this week and I stumbled upon a blog that I absolutely love and had to share it with y'all! It's called Honestly WTF (gotta love that name) and that pretty much describes my thoughts exactly after reading all the posts. There is everything from fashion to home decor to art to DIY projects and so much more. I discovered a DIY friendship bracelet tutorial and I cannot wait to try! They are perfect for summer and would probably be marked up a billion percent at a retail store, and this DIY shows you how to make them yourself with minimal costs!
DIY Tutorial
I am determined to give these a try and hope you will to... Let's get crafty friends! Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend :)
